Square steel tube size and wall thickness

A square tube is ordered using the outside side dimension and wall thickness. Keep those measurements separate in the item list. If a part fits inside the tube, also provide the insert dimensions and the fit required rather than calculating the opening from nominal dimensions alone.

The overall catalogue range does not mean that every wall thickness is available in every size. The factory reviews the selected combination, quantity, length and process requirements before confirming an order.

Matching the section to the frame

Furniture legs, shelving frames and support assemblies may use different sections within the same project. Mark the function of each square tube on the drawing and identify joining, drilling, bending or finishing requirements where relevant. Load requirements belong in the design specification used to select the tube.
